GDPR: Data protection rights and wrongs
Jason Turner and Matt Donnelly will talk about GDPR, data, consent and protection.
The General Data Protection Regulation comes into effect on 25 May 2018. It is 20 years since the Data Protection Act, and everything about how we use technology and the internet has changed.
Jason will give an easy to understand overview of the regulations and important things people will need to consider and do. Matt will talk about the effect of leaving the EU, consent, data rights and how to comply with the regulations.
Jason is a trained GDPR Practitioner. He has extensive knowledge of working and leading businesses in regulated environments.
He spent almost 10 years with BGL Group where he worked with public sector procurement specialists and developed operational design solutions, market-leading and compliant technology. BGL Group own comparethemarket.com
Jason is the Director and Founder of Data2Action Ltd. His team help businesses to effectively use data to improve performance, increase opportunities, manage costs, understand and reduce risks.
Matt specialises in GDPR, data protection and commercial law.
He began work as a Trainee Solicitor at Particular Legal in September 2016. His firm specialise in working with start-ups and early-stage technology and creative businesses.
Recently, Matt gave group and one-to-one GDPR sessions at Wayra UK and Northumbria University.
