The next NUX Manchester event is taking place on Monday 2nd February and will be in the usual place at the Code Computerlove office in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. The talk will start at 7pm.

Evolutionary Psychology and UX

with Laura Gordon and Hazel Bolton

Using a QI-style format, Laura and Hazel will be discussing the evolutionary and biological origins of human behaviour and how this links to recent insights in UX. They will shed some light on common misconceptions and explore how exhibiting honesty, kindness, vulnerability and genuine care in your interactions with customers is scary yet elicits trust and in the long term allows your far more leeway than the corporate image many seek to maintain.

About Laura

Laura currently works as Customer Champion for Manchester startup Formisimo. Her interest in UX started during her Masters and PhD in evolutionary biology and genetics and continued when she entered the tech industry through the use of evolutionary psychology and emotional intelligence in client facing interactions.
