The next NUX Leeds event is taking place on Monday 24th June at Platform, New Station St, Leeds LS1 4JB.
Join us from 6:00pm for food, drinks and networking. Talk starts at 6:30pm.
This month we welcome Jack Sheppard who’ll be talking all about…
Empathy, product design and being a good human
Empathy is a fundamental part of our human experience but the technology we build and design is at odds with that. So what is empathy, where does it come from and what can we learn from it?
Let’s talk about what it means to be an empathetic being, the effect technology is having on our ability to empathise with each other and what we can do to understand each other, communicate and design more ethical ‘things’ that help people be people.
Jack Sheppard is a Digital Product Designer and Creative Event Producer based in Manchester. He’s designed things with organisations like HarperCollins, Virgin, NHS, Universal Music, RBS and the Co-op, focusing on making products and services simple for real human beings and encouraging designers to think about the real-life implications of the things they design.
