Discovery Diaries

NUX is back in Manchester with it’s first event of 2024!

Join us for an exciting in-person, event, on Thursday, 16th May 2024 for insightful talks, nibbles, and a chance to have a memorable conversation.

For this session, we’re diving into the world of discoveries and why they are important in framing user problems and aligning UX strategy with business goals.

You’ll be hearing from 3 amazing speakers who’ll share their experience working on discovery phase of UX projects.

Amy Messenger

Amy Messenger – Embedding UX into an Agile website delivery

Amy will talk through how she ensured user experience, accessibility and design were considered from discovery to delivery of the Aldermore website rebuild.

Monica Morales

Monica Morales – How can we potentialise our discovery with Design thinking

How can we potentialise our discovery with Design thinking, an approach that fosters innovation by putting people at the center of problem-solving. By empathizing with users, understanding their needs, design thinking can help us to uncover opportunities, identify problems, and reveal market gaps that might otherwise go unnoticed. Its iterative nature allows for continuous refinement, ultimately leading to the delivery of innovative solutions that address real user needs effectively.

Jamie Kane

Jamie Kane  – Would you want to plan a funeral online?

Arranging a funeral can be one of the most stressful events someone has to plan in their life. For some, being able to plan part of this online could make parts of this process slightly easier.

In this talk, Jamie will go through the steps taken to run a discovery into arranging a funeral online. He’ll cover things like speaking to Funeral Arrangers, running a design sprint and interviewing people who have been through a bereavement.
