NUX Manchester – 6th April 2020 – Giving accessibility a voice

The next NUX Manchester event is taking place on Monday 6th April 2020. In light of government advice, this will be a virtual event, powered by Zoom.

Join us online from 6:15pm ready for the talk which will begin at 6:30pm.

Giving accessibility a voice

Paul Braddock and Catherine Malpass

Product teams sometimes only scratch the surface when it comes to accessibility, and often used as a buzz word in many organisations. In this talk, we’ll be sharing what to consider before researching with people who are visually impaired and what we learned when we conducted the research. We hope this talk will inspire you to give unrepresented users a voice and a platform in your service.

Paul is an all-round digital designer with over 10 years’ experience across a range of industries. He’s worked with agency and in-house design teams across Europe to help create award winning products and services. Now based in Manchester, Paul works as a UX Designer for Co-op Insurance.

Catherine is currently Lead User Researcher at Co-op Digital. Previously she worked in digital transformation and design at Cancer Research UK in London. Passionate about creating more inclusive and fair cultures, Catherine is also currently a Lead Mentor for Innovate Her in the North West with the mission to diversify the tech industry and empower young women.
