The role of the graphic designer in the UXD process

Simon will be presenting a talk entitled “The role of the graphic designer in the UXD process” which will promote and argue for an integration and synthesis of UXD and Graphic Design disciplines. The talk will address various factors characteristic of a Graphic Designer’s experience and education that can support and enrich the UXD process.
About Simon
Simon is a Senior Lecturer of BA(hons) Graphic Design at Leeds College of Art and specialises in critical and contextual studies. He has an interdisciplinary practice and research interests which revolve around exploring and applying psychoanalytic and subjectivist approaches to design and visual culture. Simon delivers introductory workshops and seminars on User Experience Design approaches to digital design as part of the programme’s curriculum and his current research and scholarly activity aims to strengthen links between the UXD and Graphic Design disciplines with an emphasis of academic potential.
