NUX Newcastle – 16 January 2020 – Better workshops with liberating structures

This month’s NUX Newcastle is on Thursday 16 January 2020. It is at a new venue – TusPark, 27 Grainger Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 5JE.

Doors will open at 6pm for food, drinks and networking. The event will start at 6:30.

Better workshops with liberating structures

How do you make sure that everyone gets heard in workshops, not just the ones who can talk the loudest? Mia Peters has been using Liberating Structures – a set of tools for disrupting power dynamics to foster inclusion and innovation – in local government. She’ll share how you can use these tools in workshops.

Mia is a Service Design Manager in local government in London. Her work has ranged from redesigning services for children with special educational needs to producing industrial strategies.

Prior to moving into local government, she worked for the UK’s biggest telecommunications company.

She’s also a qualified executive coach, and has experience in marketing, change management and innovation. Her side hustles have included running a vintage shop and supplying themed catering for Secret Cinema events.
