Discovering negotiation
Lisa McClure freely admits she’s not great at negotiation. After watching a Google interview with Chris Voss (former FBI hostage negotiator), she’s been on a mini discovery journey to understand why she’s not a good negotiator, and how to improve.
Lisa has spent the last few months reading about the different strategies for successful negotiation from the Kremlin, Harvard and the FBI. She’s followed it up with a little training; and some light user research – talking to people who have varied expertise in negotiation, from expert to novice.
If you need a fast introduction to negotiation – Lisa has distilled everything she has learned so far into this talk; including:
- recognising your current negotiation style
- preparation you can do before going into a negotiation to improve the outcome
- tips for dealing with tough situations.
This talk won’t make you an expert, but it might save you a little time and money.
