Doors will open at 6pm for food, drinks and networking. The talk will start at 6:30.

How to avoid the robot apocalypse: The past, present and future of artificial intelligence from spambots to Skynet

Artificial intelligence is something everybody is talking about. Tom Moran will talk about where it came from, how to start designing for AI today, and how are we going to avoid complete annihilation at the hands of our robot overlords.

About Tom

Tom is a leading voice for UX in North East.

Tom works as a UX Lead at TH_NK where he runs user research tests, leads design workshops, and creates beautiful design experiences. He regularly writes and speaks about the state of digital, design and the future of UX, artificial intelligence and virtual reality. He organises and runs bootcamps and workshops at local schools and universities about digital design and divergent thinking. He also mentors 3 students who aspire to work in digital.

Tom hopes to make the world better. He uses his infectious enthusiasm to not just champion UX, but he champions the people who design and create user experiences.
