with Suzanne Clarke

“Never work with children or animals” goes the dated, antisocial saying. Luckily the BBC have a mandate to ignore that and enrich all of us with programmes and services that inform, educate and entertain.

Their brand new iPlayerKids app looks to do just that in a respectful, colourful and delightful way.

NUX Liverpool

So far we’ve enjoyed great talks, workshops and interactive sessions on testing, using data to fuel great ideas, perfecting the mobile journey and building a large UX team from scratch.

We’ve been lucky to have the opportunity to soak up wisdom and day-to-day tips from experts who have worked at places like the BBC, Liverpool John Moores University, the British Council, The Times and Sunday Times and Shop Direct.

The BBC’s User Experience and Design Team

Our fifth NUX Liverpool focuses on UX Design. From the BBC’s User Experience and Design (UX&D) team, Suzanne Clarke joins us to demonstrate the work that’s gone into the new iPlayerKids app.

iPlayerKids has to engage children and teenagers, safely and — much like the new CBBC branding — without patronising their audience.

Suzanne will explain how Lean UX principles have been used to produce the new TV on demand service. Prepare for insights into research, competitor analysis, project scoping, prototyping methods and UI design.
